Role Model with Shutzpa

Bookmark and Share

Photographic evidence that my little terrier is a terror. The 50lb dog is sitting on the floor while the 15lb dog is sitting smack in the middle of the GIGANTIC Molly Mutt cushion.

The cushion is HUGE- it takes up most of the hallway. There is enough room for two of BOTH OF THEM and Mickey goes ahead and dominates the thing!

Go on admit it, you wish you had just a little of Mickey's shutzpa. Just THINK of how your work day would ROCK if you had the guts to tell the "big dog" to get the hell off YOUR cushion.

Of course, upon meeting ANYONE Mickey promptly sprawls out flat on his back (check him out in action here), so maybe we shouldn't be using Mickey as a role model just yet.

Editors note: I MADE A MISTAKE! As you can see below my friend The Pet Food Guy pointed out that I spelled "chutzpa" with an "s" rather than a "c." He would know better than me because he is from New York. Sorry Pet Food Guy! Thank you for telling me!

When They're Sleeping...

Bookmark and Share

Here we have Kayloo completely crashed out on her Molly Mutt, your hand in mind dog duvet (Canadians can order theirs here). You get a thing called a "stuff sack" and make your own little cushion and then put your cushion inside the duvet. GOOD IDEA. I LOVE the print and I LOVE the fact that I have reused all the heinous pieces of clothing I feel bad about getting rid of. Very green. Love it.

And oh, I could just eat this little girl up!

We got size gargantuan so that both Mickey & Kayloo can sleep on it. Mickey, however, still manages to spend a lot of time sitting on Kayloos' head.

Stuff My Dogs Have Wrecked: Cushion II

Bookmark and Share

I was going through the photos on my camera and came across a whole shwack of pics (that's right, "schwack"). I've been away from the dogs now for a few days and I THOUGHT for a minute that I missed them a bit.

And then I came across this:

Are you FREAKING KIDDING ME?!!!!!!

A few other reminders that my dogs are a total pain in the butt:

Breathe in... breathe out... breathe in... to add insult to injury Kayloo looks positively gleeful... breathe out...

Stuff My Dogs Have Wrecked: Cushion

Got home and Kayloo had ripped her cushion into six billion pieces. Have you ever seen six billion microscopic pieces of something? Let me tell you what six billion pieces looks like: it looks like a pain in the ass.

Fantastic.

As mentioned, I am frugal. Thrifty if you will. So rather than buy another cushion I decided- in my infinite wisdom- to fix it myself. And this decision cost me roughly 5 hours of my life. 5 HOURS that I will never get back. The vast majority of my Sunday was spent cutting up old shirts, darning (I don't own a sewing machine, which is weird because I should have known that once I hit 30 I WAS GOING TO SEW MORE THAN I EVER HAD IN MY ENTIRE LIFE), hunching over a smelly dog cushion and stabbing myself in the finger over and over again.

What is an hour worth to you? $10? $20? $50 maybe? Based on this logic and a little math, Kayloo is now the proud owner of a cushion that is covered in blood, looks like crap and is now worth somewhere between $50 and $250 in labour alone.

Above is a picture of the dogs helping me. I MAY have put the rest of the cut up old shirt on Kayloo and laughed at her out of spite.

Giant!

Mickey trying to sleep on the little cushion but he is having difficulty because of how freaking humongous he is. He is a giant, gargantuan dog! Remember how small and cute he was? Like here and here? He could practically digest an entire horse whole now. WHOLE I say!

Small as a Button

I am putting this one in, out of sequence, because... omg, look at how little he was! He used to fit under the couch- he'd kick things under there and then go in after them. I distinctly remember one of the last times he did that- he got stuck for a good couple of minutes. And then barked and snarled like the couch had a personal vendetta against him. Probably did.
