Willy-Nilly Wonka
I was GOING to write something about how Mickey, when he play fights with Kayloo, assumes the unique ninja-fighting position of flopping out on his back and pawing at Kayloo's head. You'd think, since he is half her size, he would do his best to make himself bigger, but no. He lays down and rolls over and starts kicking and punching away like a wayward kangaroo. A really REALLY small kangaroo.
So, I was GOING to write about that, but then I noticed that Mickey's willy was HANGING OUT. Right on out there. With absolutely no regard for decorum or manners or EVEN INTRODUCTIONS! Oh. The. Horror. Didn't he know that SELF RESPECTING PEOPLE WITH STANDARDS WOULD SEE HIM?
Since Mickey is a male dog and I am not in the habit of making him wear trousers, this state of exposure is not an unusual occurrence. Happens every day as you might well imagine. Of course, I don't generally freeze-frame the occasion and then force it upon my unsuspecting readers.
Suddenly I started to second guess myself. Would you guys wince at a dog willy in the wind? Would you be a wee bit uncomfortable and waffle at such wretchedness?
Or would you wink and think, "Hey! What's a little walk on the wild side?"
(I'm going to try not to do the 7 million "w's" in a sentence thing again, but come ON, it was kind of funny!)
So, what do you think? Is dog modesty a must, or are we okay with our dogs in all their inappropriate splendor?
If you liked this post and you would like to share it, that would be super! Thank you so much!

Well, I can honestly say, it doesn't bother me...after all, he's a DOG and asking him to cover up is a bit like asking a shark to not eat you. Its as natural for them to go around happily naked as it is to forego the typical handshake during introductions in favor of the more appropriate crotch sniff, regardless of the species. On the other hand, I have sent pictures of dogs out onto the web's unsuspecting masses and been politely asked to cover that thing up. Obviously some people do have a problem with seeing the genitals of other species. Perhaps they get aroused and it worries them. ;-)
ReplyDeleteI've had a few friends get wide-eyed when my dog gets "excited," but being a dog owner since childhood has left me unconcerned about it. It's reactionary!
ReplyDeleteI really don't care. My daughter calls it his "lipstick" - LOL! And I have one dog who had to have his "willy", as you call it, amputated due to a mast cell tumor in his sheath. I'd give anything for him to have his willy hanging out, poor dear. You can see him on my Twitter background - he's a medical mess and now is dealing with a new cancer - an oral tumor. Poor Barney. So have at and put any pictures out there that you want - they're animals, not humans, and don't have the same hang-ups that we do.
ReplyDelete@Everyone- I TOTALLY agree! They are DOGS! And poor Barney is right, poor little turkey. Thanks for being cool, guys :)
ReplyDeleteDogs don't have hang-ups...people have hang-ups! This picture made me crack up. :D
ReplyDeleteThe dogs certainly don't care - they have no clue about the concept of modesty and they lick their privates just because they can! Dog owners don't care - we've seen that "lipstick" before. Non-dog owners might be offended, but that's their problem. I do have to say, though, that I like your choice of "modesty patch" - much more fun than the ubiquitous black rectangle :)
ReplyDelete@PaintDog- lol- I started with the black rectangle... it was purple for awhile & then I thought "Let's get crazy!" ;) I agree with you guys: THEY ARE DOGS! They aren't supposed to wear pants therefore their willies WILL hang out. Silly people & their hang ups :)
