Enough With the Poo in the House

Bookmark and Share

The next couple of weeks are going to be MASSIVE WEEKS OF CHAOS from which we can only hope to emerge from all in once piece. John is laboriously working on moving his office, which means we are all going to be running about with a pound of gyprock dust on our eyelashes and cheeks for awhile, like I am sporting here.

Add to that I JUST picked up a DISGUSTING leaf by the door (digusting as in dis. gust. ing if ya catch my drift), which lead me to holler a sentence I didn't think I would ever utter in an I-mean-it-Buster!!! sort of way:

"Seriously you guys*, ENOUGH WITH THE POO IN THE HOUSE!!!"

Yup, I said that.

And what does painting into the wee hours and a hygienically compromised leaf have to do with each other? I'm not sure. But I do know that when I reached for that leaf with my paint coated hand I felt VERY justified barking out my annoyance to the suddenly empty room, doing so with enough force to make dust poof out from my hair and gently cascade down around me, poo leaf and all. Which made me laugh.

Something like that has got to make you laugh.

Wish us luck as we battle the pounds of microscopic white dust in our various crannies.

*Just to be clear, I was referring to my dogs, not my husband.

Funky Dog with Water Dish

Bookmark and Share

I was trying to catch Kayloo pushing her nose into the little tube above the water dish. Sounds weird, but she likes doing that for some reason.

I love how this pic turned out... kind of arty or balanced or something. Her leg is even sticking out all funky-like and she matches the graffiti!

Here was another attempt I made at being arty.

Do you have an uber-fabulous photo to share? Post a link in the comments- would love to see them!

Update: Okay, there have been some questions about the cement thing. See, it's a human/dog fountain. On the left there up high for the people and then whatever doesn't fit into you mouth goes down into a spout thingy and drains down into the dog dish on the right. See it? Is that brilliant or what?!

This was what we were surrounded by at the end of one of our walks last weekend (same day as this photo).

I love my dogs for lots of reasons, but one thing I will be eternally grateful for is that because of them I now get my butt OUTSIDE. Every day.

And I get to breathe in views like this.

Sometimes Dogs Get Confused Too

Bookmark and Share

Happy Friday, gorgeous people!

I read somewhere that after the holidays people can sometimes feel a little... disoriented. Like, WHAT IN THE HELL JUST HAPPENED AND WHY IS THERE A TREES WORTH OF TINSEL STUCK BETWEEN MY TOES, BAAAAAAAAAAA!!!

So, well done You! You made it through the first week of 2010. Not only did you make it through, chances are you kicked ass in ways you didn't even know.

Mickey is looking a little like a deer caught in headlights here, isn't he? Rest assured, 10 seconds later he was raising hell in one way or another. Most likely to the detriment of Kayloo's general well being.

Have a great weekend! You might even want to raise a little hell yourself...

Gettin' My Groove On (& a little Where's Mickey?)

Bookmark and Share

Mickey IS in this photo... can you see him? Kinda of another Where's Waldo/Mickey pic.

So. Do you guys feel all jazzercized after the holiday season, or do you feel like you downed too many squirrelly eggnogs and should sleep it off a little longer lest you CROSS THE LINE (again) and moon innocent passerby's from your (parked) vehicle? I seem to bounce between the two. An hour ago all I seemed capable of was slumping on the living room floor, half-heartedly tossing a ball for Mickey while staring at the TV awash in a numb glaze.

And then I realized that my eyes were being accosted by HOCKEY (hockey! blecht! hockey, BLECHT!) so I got off my butt and here I am.

Speaking of jazzercize-ification... John got me dance lessons for Christmas. DANCE LESSONS, PEOPLE! I mentioned briefly (here) that I used to dance, so this whole experience could go one of a couple ways:

1. I'll be all- oh my GOD! Broadway here I come, look out John Travolta, bring me my tight tights and make 'em CHERRY RED BABY!

or, perhaps more likely...

2. oh. my. god. kill me now. please. owww. apologies to my parents for ever paying for dance lessons...

Visions of Elaine are dancing through my head (see what I did there? with the "dancing?" little play on words there).

Oh my god, I LOVE how Elaine dances! KILLS ME! When I want John to vamoose I shake a leg and break out my coveted Elaine moves and IT CLEARS THE ROOM. He can't handle it. I think he thinks his eyes are going to fall out of his head or something. Highly recommend it. That boy LOVES MY MOVES.

And here, a little Elaine action for ya. Enjoy. And think of me, limping through my first dance class in a decade. For the sake of the other people in the class with me, please send me graceful vibes.

Mini-Me Puppies: 1 Year On

Bookmark and Share

Well, folks. It would appear that I have run out of Christmas photos. This is it! No more mention of Santa hats or turkey experiments or Christmas decorations or any of that crap. PROMISE.

Here is a kinda sorta similar picture that I took of Mickey and Kayloo in January of last year. Holy crap, you guys! Look at how little they were! They're fuzzy mini-me's of themselves! Awww puppies...

Sigh.

Christmas 2009- Photos

Bookmark and Share

Okay, so this post is a bit out of order since I already wrote my Happy New Year! post, but whatev. Here are a few pics from the holiday season:

Me wearing a goofy Santa hat on Christmas morning:

I am sporting one (1) fancy black glove, one (1) 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics and Paralympics Red Mitten (ALL the rage here in Canada at the moment. I am SO in), and my new scarf. Kayloo is playing with her new favourite toy and not doing anything bad. Banner morning.

If I look a little tense it's probably because I am about to embark on my First Christmas Turkey Extravaganza ever (I freak out about it at the beginning of December here) and I am not exactly taking it in stride. I had planned to take pictures each step of the way so I could share them with you all but it's hard to take pictures when you are in PERMANENT PANIC MODE.

The day consisteded of self imposed emergencies such as: Drum stick awol! DRUM STICK AWOL! Perform IMMEDIATE drum stick recovery now, NOW, NOW!!! Get that drum stick back in the roasting pot, launch Perfect Gravy Protocol AND GIVE ME 10 SOLDIER!

Here are the dogs messing with the stockings:

Photo during our walk after opening stockings and gorging on breakfast (waffles with berries and whip cream. YUM) but BEFORE we opened our "main" presents (special note to the non-Canadians reading this post: CHECK IT OUT! NO SNOW OR IGLOOS OR ANYTHING!):

And here we have our family photo. Introducing... drum roll... for the first time on Fido & Wino... MY HUSBAND, JOHN! As you can see he DOES exist and I wasn't just making him up in past posts (like here and here):

Christmas pretty much rocks in my books...
